Why I’m Running

Neighbor, over the past four years our city has continued to see remarkable growth. As your city councilwoman, I’ve listened to you and delivered on your priorities— supporting first responders, improving streets and defending our quality of life and values. I’d be honored with your trust and vote again.

– Barbara

Meet Barbara

Councilwoman Barbara Peck – Delivers for OKC.

The daughter of an Air Force Veteran, Barbara learned the value of service at a young age. After graduating from Putnam City public schools, Barbara completed her college degree at the University of Central Oklahoma.  Barbara then became a dispatcher for the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Barbara is now a business leader, working in construction for 25-years. Primarily working in development with OKC’s own Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, Inc.

Barbara’s three children were raised in far west Ward 3 since 2007 where they all graduated from Mustang High School.

In addition to spending time with her husband, Brad, kids and grandkids, and their two pups, Gemma and Boomerjack, Councilwoman Peck volunteers for non-profits serving on the YWCAcommittees (helping to rescue women from domestic violence), the Alliance for Economic Development Board, and the OKC Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction.

PRIORITIES

Councilwoman Barbara Peck: Your voice… delivered.

Support public safety: As a former first responder, Barbara Peck supported every public safety budget… helping to retain and add even more police officers and firefighters on the street, reducing response times and adding life saving protective equipment to keep our heroes safe.

Improving roads and infrastructure: Under Barbara’s tenure, our community has seen over 70 miles of road improvements without raising taxes.

Addressing homelessness: Barbara has supported numerous programs, especially the city’s Key to Home initiative to help get our homeless neighbors off the street, back to health and back to work.

Protecting our quality of life: Barbara successfully opposed the creation of a traffic and noise producing rock venue in the middle of a residential neighborhood, halted the creation of a waste recycling center in our neighborhoods, and continues to ensure the neighbors voices are heard on new development opportunities.

Growing jobs and improving our economy: Barbara has supported every balanced budget and opposed new regulations and increased taxes.
